Communication 2nine2

 Team Project

Using Media to Dramatize
Concepts and Processes in Organizational Communication

Have you ever seen the famous Charlie Chaplin film "Modern Times"? In this movie the Little Tramp becomes a factory worker. In one scene, on his lunch hour, he is fed by a machine that is supposed to speed up the process. In another, a machine he is working on starts to gobble him up. The obvious message is that workers sometimes feel disconnected from their work and dehumanized by it.  We believe that film can be a useful instructional tool for illuminating concepts and processes in organizational communication.

Purpose:

The primary goal of this assignment is for your group to apply and demonstrate an understanding of small group or organizational theory and principles through analysis of a film or selected film clips.  The secondary goal of this assignment is for your group to have some experience working together in order to enhance your level of small group communication competence.
